Overview
The true test of a character intellectual property (IP) is its ability to break out of the digital canvas into tactile physical products. As part of Boneybone Studios' direct-to-consumer lifestyle strategy, Bon and BB moved from vector model sheets to initial production prototypes, exploring plush textiles, high-density foam, and functional lifestyle accessories.
Physical Translation & Material Exploration
1. Designer Plush Bag Charms / Keychains
Engineered as fashionable everyday carry (EDC) accessories, the plush figures bridge character fandom with street-style aesthetics:
• Bon Plush Charm: Crafted in signature vibrant terracotta velboa, featuring detailed suit rib stitching and an embroidered faceplate aperture that captures his adventurous skull motif. Finished with a heavy-duty polished metal clasp.
• BB Urban Edition Charm: Features mixed-media execution—pairing soft plush hoodie fabrics, custom chest embroidery ("BBV"), and a high-gloss domed ABS faceplate with embedded cyan digital eye graphics to emulate a real glowing visor.
2. Slow-Rebound Polyurethane (PU) Squishy Collectibles
Designed as tactile desk companions and stress-relief collectibles:
• Full-Body Bon PU Toy: A tactile, soft-touch polyurethane foam figure engineered to preserve clean parting lines, accurate suit proportions, and tactile memory rebound.
• BB Faceplate Stress Toy: Focused on BB's friendly digital expression, featuring smooth-matte silicone/PU density built for everyday desktop utility.
Production & CMF Governance
Translating stylized 2D artwork into physical manufacturing required strict quality and CMF (Color, Material, Finish) control:
• Color Accuracy: Matching physical dye lots and PU pigmentation directly to Pantone 167 C (Rich Terracotta), Deep Space Navy, and Electric Cyan.
• Structural Integrity: Ensuring seam placement and embroidery density preserve character silhouette and facial proportions during high-volume compression and everyday use.
• Packaging & Commercial Readiness: Sized and weighted to serve as versatile blind-box collectibles, gachapon drops, and limited-edition e-commerce releases.
